The Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO have entered into a collaborative partnership through a joint research operation agreement to establish the Centre for Australian Weather and Climate Research. Resources are being pooled to strengthen and leverage the scientific capability of both organisations in earth systems science capability to better address the socio, environmental and economic challenges posted by climate change. The Centre aims to deliver innovative and world class research of benefit to the Australian community, industry and society. The Bureau currently undertakes climate impacts research, including observed changes in Australia’s natural systems. The Bureau is the preeminent National Meteorological Service in the southern hemisphere and one of the more technologically advanced in the world. |

The University of Melbourne, School of Forest and Ecosystem Science, has expertise in the identification of robust phenological indicators and the analysis of phenological data. The School has strong links with international organisations which use web-based phenological data collection. |

Land & Water Australia |
|
Land & Water Australia is a national organisation dedicated to investing in and managing research and development to underpin sustainable resource use and management. Land & Water Australia have provided initial funding for the ClimateWatch project through its 'Innovations' grants that address critical and emerging issues and opportunities for achieving the sustainable use and management of Australia’s natural resources. |
